BED STAGE Hostel

We had a good stay and would come back. The rooms were clean and had enough light, the bathrooms were clean too, and lockers were available in the room. The reception was usually unattended, so we had to call when checking in or out. The hostel is right by Brasov square, with cafes and restaurants nearby, a supermarket just steps away, and monuments like The clock tower, black church, mount tampa, narrow street, first Romanian school within walking distance. It's lively around there, especially in summer. It was quite hot outside, but for some reason the AC was kept off.

Low price is the only good thing I can say. The beds and mattresses are noisy, and there's nowhere nearby to put your phone or anything else. One staff member slept in the same room as me and kept walking around noisily until 3-4 am, so getting proper rest was impossible. I'd only recommend it if you're arriving with at least four people.

There isn't a laundry, kitchen, or even a shared area, so it's hard to meet people if you're travelling alone. The beds themselves are nice, and I suppose it's fine if all you need is somewhere to sleep, but I wouldn't recommend it otherwise. I saw other reviews mentioning plans for a kitchen, though it clearly never happened. The service was disappointing, with reception open only now and then, and the bathrooms weren't maintained well. All night the air con kept making a strange start-and-stop noise that made sleep really difficult.

The beds are genuinely comfortable, and the curtains around them make the space feel private. The bathrooms are clean too. It's a brand new hostel. I would've given it five stars if it had lockers and a kitchen. The owner also chose to drill the walls at 1 in the morning, which was unpleasant.
