Centrum House Hostel

The staff were really friendly and helpful, and the hostel sits in a lively part of town. My train was delayed, so I didn't arrive until about 2:30. Being able to check in late made things much easier.

The self check-in was easy, and staff replied quickly whenever I had a question. Everyone in my dorm was friendly. The room was clean, with big windows for fresh air and curtains on each dorm bed. A few lockers wouldn't lock, though I might have been using them wrong.

Booking was easy, the location was good, and the hostel felt cosy and clean. The lounge is spacious and private, with several couches for relaxing. Guests and staff were all great. A 10 out of 10 hostel 👍

The Green dorm really let us down. The mattresses were comfortable, but all the bunks were connected, so movement in one shook four beds. There were no curtains on the bunks, unlike in the photos, and the beds were so close that someone's head or feet ended up right beside you. Some lockers didn't work, and the room stayed bright because the curtains didn't cover the windows. It also went two or three days without cleaning. The bin needed emptying and the floor at least needed a quick sweep. The location is excellent, hard to beat, and the bathrooms are acceptable, though they could be cleaned more often and stocked better. The hostel has potential, but for now the experience was below average. There's little staff presence beyond check-in, which didn't bother us by itself, but there was no atmosphere. The only shared space is a loft that feels poorly laid out. A common room on the ground floor would make it easier to meet and spend time together. We arrived on New Year's Eve and had to make our own social plans. There was no bar or organised activity.
