Hotel Brasov

The staff were friendly and stepped in to help when we needed assistance with check-in. Our room was very clean and had the basics, though the pillows could have been better and there was just one power socket. That was a little limiting, but not a major problem. Hotel Brașov is conveniently situated between Council Square and the train station, handy if you want to explore places outside Brașov.

Breakfast was a highlight, even with a limited selection: cold meat and cheese, frozen pastries baked fresh, pancakes, two kinds of juice, vegetables, toppings, coffee, tea, omelette, sausages, cereal, and yogurt. The staff were extremely kind, and the hotel was warm. We stayed two nights and were happy with our choice, especially for the price and breakfast. It’s very close to AFI Brașov, around a 25-30 minute walk from the center, or two minutes from the bus stop for bus 2 to the old center. Entry is by code or through the page sent on your stay date. If you’ve seen information saying reception is open 24/7, that isn’t the case. The pillows were also a bit big and hard, though that may just be personal preference. Aside from those small issues, we felt good about the stay.

Good location and a nice property. The curtains let in morning light, so they could do with better blackout coverage.

The rooms were clean and nice, and it was so quiet that we even slept with the windows open. The price is reasonable, and they have a small, okay breakfast. Just be aware there’s no air conditioning. Getting checked in was confusing because you need your phone to unlock the room door, so keep it charged. We had registered online and expected a code, but none arrived. It turned out passport registration was required, and the online sign-up didn’t mention that. We had to call the manager to let us in, then register our passports. It would have helped to know beforehand. At least it wasn’t late at night when this happened.
