Casa Wagner Brasov

We lucked into rooms 1 & 2, both looking out over the beautiful old square. The place has faded opulence: spotless, though some of the decor feels tired. The staff were lovely, and breakfast was great. The location is hard to beat.

The rooms are super cute, and the restaurant serves really good food. The customer service was top tier too. I came to Braşov for a little getaway and would book this hotel again next time I'm in braşov.

I was still exhausted when I wrote this, and maybe that made me less generous than usual. The rooms and facilities were lovely, and after a good breakfast I gave a star back. Breakfast was hopefully going to be good, since I hadn't tried it yet when I first wrote. What drove my complaint was the noise late at night and again at 5:30 in the morning. People were speaking so loudly it was almost yelling, while others were trying to sleep. Random noisy people seem hard to avoid these days, so I wouldn't dock the hotel for that. Kitchen cleanup and setup were very loud too, though I considered that unavoidable and thought taking a point for it would be mean. I come to a hotel first of all to sleep. The restaurant and the way it operates interfered with that badly. Management should decide which business they're in. I'd rather go out for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, since all are readily available nearby, than have them here at the cost of sleep. Still, tell your staff to keep quiet at night. Being exhausted and unable to sleep was maddening.

For the price, this is a great example of value. Right on the main square, it makes it easy to feel the City's medieval spirit and get to all the famous places nearby.
