We returned to Allegria after a long time and came away disappointed. The bruschetta with beef was the one good dish, really tasty, but the food overall wasn’t great. The portions were small and the prices high. My duck was terrible, served with tomato sauce that didn’t go with it at all. Duck is usually served with a sweet and sour sauce. My husband’s chicken breast with rice was okay, though the portion was really small.
The food was delicious, with enough variety across local, national, and international dishes. Allegria is a quaint restaurant with an outdoor terrace and plenty of seating inside. Our waiter seemed a little lost at times, but overall we had a great experience.
Anca and Emil took good care of us, and the food was delicious 👌 We waited at least 45 minutes for it, but I’d still give the place five stars.
The steaks arrived undercooked, though they took them back and cooked them well done as I’d asked, which I appreciated. We ordered two Mangalita steaks, one of the more expensive menu items, but they lacked flavor: there was little seasoning and no smoky taste from the grill. The same dishes had been prepared carefully on our previous visit, which is why we came back. Disappointed with both the food and the service. The waitresses seemed to be working to a target. Before sitting down, I specifically asked to use the toilet. As soon as I returned, the waitress asked what she could bring me, as if I’d taken the menu into the Ladies Room. I asked for more time to look it over, but she kept coming back every two minutes, making me feel rushed to order and be done.
Even on a busy evening, the friendly, attentive staff found us a table despite our not having a reservation. The food was delicious and came very quickly. There’s a varied menu, and I recommend trying the local wines.
