Hotel Capitol

It's hard to believe this is a hotel in 2025 🤣 They complain there aren't enough tourists in Romania, and I can see why. The quality is poor, really poor. What a joke.

The views from the room, terrace, parking, pool, and breakfast were positives. But the rooms were outdated, poorly maintained, and dirty, with a smell coming from the bathroom. Dinner was disappointing too. You have to ask for both the AC remote and a hair dryer, and bring your own shampoo and shower gel because what they provide isn't enough. Breakfast starts at 8 am, so everyone rushes in at once and there are queues for coffee. The beaches are rocky and have shells. I'd give it the three stars for the views, but it could be so much better with a little effort. A pity.

The staff were super friendly and helpful, and breakfast was a good option: a reasonable selection, plenty of food, and I always found a comfortable spot. The balcony view was beautiful, and the price seemed reasonable for the area. The rooms feel very old fashioned, and the bed is two singles pushed together instead of a double. As a couple, one of us ended up sleeping in the gap, which wasn't comfortable. The cleaning wasn't great when we arrived, but someone did a better job the next day and the bad smell from the toilet went away, which was a huge relief. Wi-Fi was patchy, though it worked most of the time.

We had a great time, with nice rooms, a lovely pool, and amazing staff. The beach was easy to get to from the hotel. When the sink water pressure gave us trouble, the hotel had someone on duty. Plumber Costi responded quickly and was polite and helpful.
