Taj Mahal

I’d never tried Indian food elsewhere, but I really enjoyed the dishes here. The food is exceptional and the service was pretty good too. If you haven’t had Indian food before, this place is well worth trying.

The decor was decent, but it couldn’t save the experience. The waitress/owner was rude and seemed clueless, and the food had none of the flavor or integrity I associate with Indian cuisine. Calling this an Indian restaurant feels completely undeserved. I’ve seen the glowing reviews, but I’d urge people to keep looking for actual Indian food. This place was an insult.

The curries were really tasty, and we liked the atmosphere at Taj Mahal. We had a late lunch, though the meal moved slowly because the only waiter was also looking after the guesthouse reception and all the diners. The samosas were a letdown. They arrived after the main course, and when we said we hadn’t wanted them as a side, we weren’t able to cancel. They were quite hard, and the sauce tasted bottled. The lasi wasn’t really to our taste either. I’d come back, but I’d allow plenty of time for a slow meal.

I really should’ve paid attention to the reviews. I ordered chicken rogan josh and biryani, and this is what turned up!
