B&B Duo Caffe

The owner is friendly and speaks understandable English, though at times he was a bit too friendly for me. The room setup and equipment are very basic. As the name suggests, there are only two coffee machines and WiFi, but the AC works, so it's okay. The surroundings are nice, and the nearest closter could be a pleasant place to begin a day out. I wouldn't book for more than 30 euros per person, since it feels like a single hostel.

I booked an AC room through booking.com, but Eli, who is the owner despite presenting himself as staff, gave me a room without AC. I arrived after midnight and was tired, so I only noticed the next day. He charged the full price and kept pressuring me to pay cash, even though booking.com clearly says I can pay by card to save the tax. When I asked for a discount because the room had no AC, and non-AC accommodation costs less online, he said, “So what?!” When we make a mistake, we should apologize and offer a discount willingly. I have photos and WhatsApp messages showing there was no AC. He threw the money on the floor, raised his voice aggressively, and put me out of the house at 11 pm. I had to find somewhere else, take an Uber, and pay the full price. Avoid this place at all costs. He doesn't seem mentally stable. Looks like no proper sleep.

The location worked well for getting around: it's close to the diplomatic area, feels peaceful and safe, and is within walking distance of several bus and tram lines. Obor metro station is about a 15-minute walk away. Mega Image is only 100 meters away, with various products and hot food, and there are several exchange bureaus in the neighborhood. I've stayed at B&B Duo Caffe several times, and it's been a comfortable experience each time. The rooms are spotless and well kept, and check-in is quick. Mr. Elias is especially welcoming and has a good sense of humor. The staff also treated my business visitor and me attentively, which made us feel valued. There are coffee and tea facilities available around the clock, including a coffee machine. A big LED TV is there for sports, news, or other programs. It's a cozy place with the practical things I need for a pleasant stay.

It's basically a place to sleep, and even then the rooms are small and very basic, with tiny windows and plain, poor furniture. Breakfast was just poor coffee and instant tea. Parking is limited, too. I'd find it hard to recommend unless it was one of the last options.
