Hotel Est

The rooms are cold, and the air conditioning doesn't work for heating. They're also very small, dated, and noisy all night. There wasn't even toilet paper in the bathroom, and nobody came in on the second day to clean or replenish supplies. The kitchen staff in particular were rude and aggressive, and the service was awful. There are hostels far better than this “hotel”. If you want your whole stay in Bucharest spoiled, this is the place.

The rooms are small but clean, the food is good, and the TV works fine. The lift is tiny, like most things here, and fits two people at most. The neighborhood gets a little noisy, but it's bearable. Prices are good, too. The hotel feels old-fashioned and the standard isn't excellent, which seems fair for a three-star place. If you're not a demanding traveler, it should suit you.

I spent a month at Hotel EST and had no complaints. The facilities were nice, and the staff were both professional and friendly. Carmen was especially helpful. She speaks English very well and explained some of the Romanian things I came across, which made my visit to Romania much easier. Thanks for helping make it a good experience!

The rooms were clean and had cable TV, free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and hot water. Still, the only outlet by the bed was occupied by the air conditioner plug. The toilets are cramped enough that the cistern blocks you from lifting the seat. Thin walls let you hear everything from the hallway, including the toilets, and at night it can sound even louder than being out there. I wasn't happy with the kitchen or dining room either. The dining area is split up and tight, and breakfast could be improved.
