We came in mid-January and were disappointed by the hotel. We had booked a courtyard-facing room, but got one on the third floor facing the boulevard. The receptionist was very friendly and said it would be more comfortable and cooler, but mornings were noisy. The rooms are worn and dated. The mattress and pillows were comfortable, and the bedding was clean, though the bathroom badly needs renovation. Its shower cubicle was rusty and leaking, and the cracked floor felt unsafe. Cigarette and cannabis smells lingered in the hallway despite the no-smoking policy. Neighbors also left bags of rubbish in the hall for three days, where we had to see and smell them. The location is excellent for business travelers. The Old Town and good places to eat are within walking distance, and the metro and taxis are easy to reach. Make up your own mind about the rest.

Gabriella and Bianca arranged the balcony room I asked for, and the staff were kind, dependable, and keen to help with everything we wanted. Since we were traveling that day, they also prepared a packed breakfast so we wouldn't miss out. My stay at the Europa Royale Bucharest hotel felt truly unique. Highly recommend it. Patrick at the service desk was magnificent and sorted everything out. While I was out seeing the city, they changed my room. The new one has a window opening onto the street, so I can get fresh air when needed. I haven't needed to open it so far, and it's been excellent. I'd probably pay a little extra for a view instead of an atrium-facing room. It looks like the rest of the stay will be great. On the first night of my three-night booking, I couldn't sleep. It was about 27-28 degrees in the room when I arrived. My window looked into a brightly lit atrium, and the air there wasn't very cool. I asked to move to a room with a window to the outside, and they gave me a fan, which helped a little. At 2 a.m. I was still awake and hoping they could resolve it.

The location is especially convenient: the hotel sits right in the city center, with lots of restaurants nearby, and only a short walk from the airport bus stop. The rooms were comfortable, clean, spacious, and nice, breakfast was very good, and the staff were helpful and friendly. All told, it was very good value for money.

The room window looked into an atrium, so there was no fresh air or way to cool the room. It was unbearably hot, and I couldn't control the temperature. A fan only helped a little and gave me a head cold. They refused to move me. Breakfast was okay, but hot food was served on very cold plates, and there were no services. Two stars at best.
