First Hostel Bucharest

I did meet three lovely guests, but the atmosphere was tense and uncomfortable. On my second day, one woman in the room walked around naked, and an older man passed out from drinking on the kitchen table, then broke a glass and spilled it on himself. The bathrooms smelled awful, and the showers had visible dirt and strange stains. On my last day, the cleaner shouted “get out!” while I was collecting my things. Checking out was also a mess: I waited 50 minutes as other guests cut in line, only for the receptionist to ask my name and tell me I could leave. Someone had eaten the nice cakes I'd bought for my family and left in the fridge in their package. The first night had started fine, although the receptionist took 40 minutes to check me in because it was his first day. At least he was nice.

Omar Sánchez made the hostel feel like a home away from home. He was warm, friendly, and ready to help, from check-in through local recommendations. Everything came with a smile and real care, and his positive energy set the tone for my stay. I'd happily return and recommend the place because of him.

I gave one star because the receptionist had no manners. At the 2 pm check-in time, I was told the room wasn't clean, and he couldn't say when it would be ready. I asked the cleaning staff, and she got it ready in 15 minutes. He was rude. Now I've seen the owner's reply, and it's nonsense. I stayed for just one night, on 29tth november 25. I don't know what they're talking about. Their replies are either fake, like them, or meant for someone else. They're not trustworthy. I was in Romania for only one night and booked through Ixigo.

I really love this place. The people are so kind, and I appreciate how they treat guests. Miguel and Berna are two staff members I especially liked, they're amazing.
