Happy Accomodation

It was a quiet spot, and everything worked out great. I even had a small balcony. The metro was 9 minutes away and the bus stop 5 minutes.

It was clean, and the owner was helpful and spoke English. Getting to the main places around Bucharest was easy, and the location was amazing. The price was the best I could find.

The room was really cold, and the water from the tap and kettle was bad. This was the worst part of my stay in Bucharest.

I liked the neighborhood a lot. It’s a quiet, upscale area, with good restaurants and an excellent bakery nearby. The host also deserves credit for moving me to a room in Building A when the WiFi in mine was poor. That room had better Internet, more space, a better mattress, and far less noise from other guests. I slept much better there. Before the move, I spent my first nights in a tiny room on the top floor of building B. It was barely big enough to open my suitcase. The old villa’s top floor seemed to have been split into four rooms with thin gypsum board, so I could hear every breath, snort, fart, and snore from next door. Neither the air conditioner nor my headphones covered it, and I slept very poorly. The bed was awkward too: the light switch sat behind the headboard, which I had to move whenever I wanted to turn the light on or off. The thin mattress was uncomfortable and noisy. There was a kitchenette tucked into a cupboard, taking up space, but the refrigerator in my room didn’t work. The bedroom had only two outlets, one of them accessible only by unplugging the TV, and there were none in the bathroom. Cleanliness and hygiene were acceptable. I thought I smelled cigarette smoke in the hallway, though it might have been a damp, stale odor. The room itself smelled okay, and I left a window open to air it out. I was there for three nights, and the rooms seem very uneven. Some look good, while others leave a lot to be desired. If you book, I’d choose a nicer room, perhaps one with a balcony. An economy room seems to come with a risk of a bad experience.
