For the price, I’d still say go for it, as long as you remember this is a basic 3 star place. The rooms are clean but plain, the staff friendly enough, and breakfast simple but sufficient. Beds are hard, and there aren’t enough pillows. Most rooms seem to have a small balcony, which is nice, especially for smokers. It’s about a 20 minute walk to the old town, where the restaurants and pubs are. Locals say the yellow taxis overcharge, so use Bolt or Uber in Bucharest.

The location is in an old neighborhood with mostly historic buildings, and public transport is easy to reach. The old town is only a 10 minute walk away, with two great restaurants nearby, Namaste and Italian restaurant. The room is spacious, but it needs a little TLC to get to 5 star standard: the shower head leaks and the door lock is broken. Staff are very friendly and helpful, and I’d recommend the place.

The garage setup made every arrival and departure a hassle. The lower gate wouldn’t open automatically, so each time we had to ask reception to let us in, and the doors between the hotel and garage were locked too. We booked two rooms, and one had a badly worn mattress and a creaky bed. Even though one guest was an older lady, they wouldn’t replace it. They only added another layer of bedding after I insisted, and the bed was still uncomfortable. Housekeeping happens just once every three days, the coffee corner in the room isn’t replenished, and staff refused even a single coffee sachet on our last night. Front desk staff were unfriendly as well. The service was far below what I expected, and I don’t recommend staying here.

The breakfast buffet has very limited choices, but the hotel’s location is great, within a 2 km walk of places like the old town and Obor Market. We had a family room and were amazed at how spacious the apartment was: 90 m2 across two stories, with a living room, a kitchen with a washing machine, two bathrooms, and two bedrooms.

The reception staff were great, but I wouldn’t wish my stay here on anyone. After staying at this hotel, I ended up in hospital on an IV drip of adrenaline and cortisone after a horrific bed bug infestation. I counted more than 26 bites across my body and had a severe allergic reaction. The condition of the place looked neglected, with broken fixtures and everything worn out, and it makes me wonder how dirty it must be. Bed bugs are dangerous and not something to overlook. It’s beyond unacceptable for a hotel to keep operating like that. The owners have failed to provide basic hygiene or safety for guests. This isn’t even a clean 1-star. Please stay somewhere else.
