Hotel Forty One Bucharest

Our room faced away from the bars, so the noise people mention didn’t bother us at all. It was clean and comfortable, if a little small, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel Forty One is right in the heart of Bucharest’s Old Town, close to restaurants and attractions, and very good value. I’d happily stay again.

The rooms were really comfortable, the shower was great, and the complimentary breakfast was a real highlight. The location is perfect too. But this is a party street, and the noise is SO LOUD at night. The hotel offers earplugs, but they don’t block the thumping, which goes on until 4-5am every morning. I really liked the place, but that cost it two stars.

I paid $62 for one night, which felt like a great deal for this spot in Bucharest’s Old Town. I was traveling alone and felt safe and comfortable. The modern, clean room was cozy and had what I needed, including slippers and a mini fridge, though I didn’t check whether it worked. The staff were welcoming and made everything easy. The location is right among restaurants, bars and historic sights. I’d read about noise before arriving. Room 113 faces the courtyard, and I was surprised by how quiet it was at night, even on the weekend. I can understand why other guests had a different experience, though. You can hear things like people entering their door codes from inside the room. The front desk has free earplugs for light sleepers. I didn’t need them, but it’s a thoughtful touch. Breakfast was simple and tasty, just enough to get the day started. A comfortable, affordable place to explore the Old Town, and I’d happily come back.

The room was far too hot, and we couldn’t cool it with the AC. We couldn’t open the skylight because it was raining, and doing so would have made the noise worse. A music bar nearby played until 4am, making sleep impossible. We’d booked three nights but left after the first. I’ll be asking for a refund, since there was no mention of music noise until 4am.
