JN Boutique Hotel

We spent three nights here. There’s a big bed, air conditioning, two toilets, and a small fridge for keeping food or water. The location was okay, near Parliament, though not very close to the center. The downsides were the cleanliness and the lighting: the place wasn’t very clean, and the first floor felt quite dark. Breakfast didn’t offer many choices. The bathroom was uncomfortable, water ended up all over the floor, and there was an odd smell.

A nice way to enjoy the mariot hotel for half the room price. Great location and great price.

The room was so noisy at night that I could hear people coming and going, along with conversations in the hall. There was no heating either. The shower sat awkwardly behind a concrete beam, so standing to use it was nearly impossible. I’m glad I only needed the place at night, and I won’t book here again.

The room looked nice, but there were so many problems that I wouldn’t return. With a child, I kept noticing hazards: the bedside tables were barely attached, the desk in front of the TV was broken, and the lamps couldn’t be adjusted because their mechanism was broken. The child’s single bed had a huge gap, so I had to wedge in the bed cover to keep my kid from falling into it. The pillows weren’t suitable for a child either. The place was much too noisy. We could hear people having sex in the room above, and it didn’t seem to have soundproofing. In the morning, a cleaning cart was left on the floor, but I never saw cleaners, and loud music from the hall was bothersome. Parking was difficult too, with only two spaces that were usually taken. The shower had mold. I didn’t mention it because I was exhausted from traveling and wanted to enjoy the trip, and I only read the reviews that same day. The floor clearly hadn’t been deep-cleaned: my white socks turned black after five minutes walking around. The mattress was far too soft. Soft can be nice, since not everyone wants to sleep on a plank, but this didn’t feel like hotel-grade material. At least the bedding was clean and fine. Breakfast was identical on both days. The cucumbers were dry, there was hardly any meat to choose from, and basically no fruit. The coffee machine gave my husband an electric shock, so there seem to be problems with the electrical connection. The window wouldn’t close and there was a constant draft. It looked like old PVC that hadn’t been replaced in a long time. Toiletries were limited to shower gel and shampoo. There were no liners for pads, no daily bin changes like you’d expect at hotels of this star rating, no shower caps, and no other toiletries. It felt like they were short on supplies and scraping by. Reception wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t great. The man barely said hello, while the woman was talking on the phone and laughing with guests standing nearby. I’m saying this as both a guest and a former hotel worker. These things wouldn’t fly somewhere else. I hope management fixes the problems or is prepared to eventually lose the stars they have.
