Gina gave us a lovely welcome, and she speaks French. The hostel is in a pretty nice part of Bucharest, though it’s about a kilometer’s walk to the lively area with restaurants and nightclubs. It feels more like an apartment hostel than a youth hostel where people naturally meet. The rooms are large and well set up, with lockable lockers, comfortable beds, and comfortable sheets. There’s also a water fountain anyone can use. There were some real downsides. One shower for 12 beds doesn’t feel like enough, and the beds don’t have curtains, power outlets, or individual lights. The bedroom doors don’t lock. The rooms and bathrooms weren’t cleaned every day, and we went without toilet paper for two days. Overall, it’s a decent hostel.

It’s spotless, like a pharmacy. You can walk here from North Station in 16 minutes. Cismigiu Park is very close, and from there you get straight to the Old Town. So... SUUUUPPEERRR!
