There’s no proper hotel parking, just a bit of space on the street out front. The bigger problem was the service. Breakfast is listed as starting at 7:30 AM. On my first morning I was allowed to eat 15 minutes early because I had an early client meeting. The next day, a staff member rudely told me to leave the breakfast area. I explained I was on my way to see a client and couldn’t eat in the car or during the meeting, but that made no difference. I ended up starting an important workday hungry and stressed. I’ve never been treated so poorly as a paying guest. There was no empathy, flexibility, or basic courtesy, and I found the hotel entirely unsuitable for business travelers. I absolutely don’t recommend it. If good service and professionalism matter to you, avoid this place.

The kitchen staff member was unfriendly and rather rude, and breakfast itself was modest with little variety. Still, I had a very enjoyable stay. Christian was especially helpful and super friendly, and the Deluxe upgrade gave me a spacious, comfortable room with a very comfortable bed. Checkout at 12 p.m. also meant I had plenty of time in the morning.

I spent a few weeks at MOXA with a team from Romania for urgent humanitarian work. The staff found lots of ways to help us, and their kindness and professionalism still stand out to me. Since then, I’ve recommended this wonderful place to several PhD students and international aid workers. They’ve all thanked me for the great experience.

My room felt a bit dusty, and after the first night the cleaning lady left the windows open all day without asking. At first I worried someone had got in. For a four-star hotel and a Deluxe room, I also expected at least some snacks, even considering the price I paid, but there weren’t any. The room upgrade did make me comfortable, and the bed was very comfortable too. I was glad checkout was at 12. Christian was really kind and the service was excellent, though breakfast was modest and not very varied, and the woman at the counter was rude and unkind.

Hotel Moxa is my regular choice whenever I come to Bucharest. It’s right in the city center, with lovely, comfortable rooms, and the friendly staff make each visit feel like coming home. Thanks for the warm welcome every time!
