Moxy Bucharest Old Town

The location was the highlight, right in the middle of everything. We stayed two nights and got upgraded to superior rooms. The room had the basic amenities, the beds and pillows were comfortable, and the toilets were clean. The staff were awesome. A great place for a few nights as a tourist.

We loved our time here as two besties (F, 33 & 35). The staff were attentive and friendly, and breakfast had surprisingly good options for my vegan needs. Raspberry deserves a special mention. She was warm, smiling, and happy to help almost every day with drinks, questions, sightseeing ideas, and food recommendations. Her energy and genuine care made our stay memorable, and she’s a real credit to the Moxy team. The Old Town location is excellent. Step outside and you’re right among the historic streets, with traditional restaurants, bars, and local shops nearby. The Church of St. Nicholas is about a 5-minute walk away, and the Palace of the Parliament is easy to reach. It worked well for both sightseeing and nights out. The hotel has a playful, modern Moxy look, with bold decor and fun details. It feels social without being too much. The rooms, though, are very basic. We upgraded on arrival because the standard room had no kettle or coffee machine, and coffee otherwise costs extra. The upgrade let one of us have coffee in the room, which was essential. There’s no fridge either, so we had nowhere cool to keep the drinking water and other essentials we bought. Temperature control was another frustration. Reception mainly manages the heating and air conditioning, and our floor-to-ceiling windows made the room very hot when the sun came in. We couldn’t turn the heat down ourselves, especially annoying in the morning. There’s a small gym with free weights, kettlebells, a treadmill, a spin bike, and a rig. It’s basic and compact, but hardly anyone used it while we were there, so you’ll probably have it to yourself. Moxy Bucharest Old Town is a fun, stylish base with fantastic staff. Just expect minimal rooms and a few practical limitations.

The staff were welcoming, friendly, and helpful throughout our visit, and the clean, comfortable rooms were well designed. The hotel has a lively, modern feel, with stylish shared spaces. Its spot right in the heart of the Old Town made it easy to walk to restaurants, bars, and attractions. Great value for a city break, and highly recommended.

The staff made a great impression, especially Nikita, who went out of his way each time we saw him to make sure everything was right. The service was amazing, and I really recommend staying here. I also loved the breakfast. It was plentiful and tasty, served in the lobby where you can sit wherever you like. The hotel’s decor and funny little phrases give it a cool, playful vibe. The rooms were a bit smaller than I expected, but super cozy, and I guess it depends which type you choose. Getting around was easy too, with a short taxi ride or walk to the interesting places.
