Ostasilor Homestay

We did have clean towels and bed linen, but the stay was still well below what I expected. I knew the area and had read the reviews, and I'm writing a few days later to be as objective as I can. The house was full of thick smoke when we arrived, enough that a child immediately started coughing. Cigarette smoke also got upstairs into our room, perhaps through the walls or floor; I can't say how. The room was full of shabby odds and ends. There were stretched cables, a dirty triple socket, a broken mirror, an uncovered electrical box, rust, very dirty tile joints, and worn furniture where no two pieces matched. The parquet was horrible. Each thing might seem minor on its own, but together they were serious. This shouldn't be marketed at all, and nothing justifies its current rating of 8.9. The owner doesn't have a garden, just an access alley from the street.

The host was remarkably helpful, but the place itself is pretty bare-bones and could use some improvement. Still, that fits with the budget-friendly prices.

It's very centrally located near the Parliament Building, only 500m from Cismigiu Park and close to the Old Town.
