Old City Bucharest NF Hotels

A loud construction job started outside at 8am on Monday, though that was outside the hotel's control. Inside, the room was freezing, and I had to ask for another duvet, then sleep under two folded ones for four layers. The hot water barely warmed up even after I followed the staff member's advice to let it run for 5-10 minutes. In winter, that was unbearable, and he didn't seem very concerned when I raised it. The staff smoking in the lobby was unpleasant and shocking. The doors didn't feel secure, like a breeze could blow them open. There was also a strange high-pitched ringing in the room, so earplugs were essential. The power sockets were half hanging out of the wall and felt incredibly unsafe to use.

The staff were lovely, friendly people who really tried to make our stay a good one. Alex the manager and Andrea the night supervisor were real assets, and I appreciated their hospitality. The rooms were comfortable, well equipped, and had perfect air conditioning. The decor was fantastic, traditional and beautifully presented. This is a really lovely hotel in the old town, right by everything but tucked away from the party area's madness. Don't hesitate to stay at NF.

The apartment we booked was nothing like the advertised place. There was no mini fridge, sofa bed, sitting area, or dining table. Instead, I found a narrow corridor, an old broken desk, a fridge on the floor, and an old, dirty settee that wasn't a sofa bed. The bedroom was hideous, with no luxury at all. The building smelled dirty and musty as soon as you walked in, then you had to go up to the 1st floor. Please don't waste your time or money. One star MAXIMUM.

The proprietor was very nice, and the building is absolutely beautiful inside and out. But the wifi didn't work, the paid parking was offsite, and the windows wouldn't close all the way. It also took 5+ minutes for the water to get hot.
