Samaa Hotel

I've stayed in Bucharest before, but this is the best homey, private hotel so far. The large room was well isolated, the restaurant was good, and there's a winged bar nearby. Staff were effective without getting in your way, and breakfast was a good continental spread. It all felt awesome and reminded me of Casa Davios in Tg. Jiu. This is a very old money place, tucked neatly into a random good neighborhood in northern Bucharest, quite far from the expensive city center, which isn't that cheap itself.

We were there in May 2025. After two nights, our room's toilet clogged, and nobody was sent to fix it. No other room was available, so my daughter and I had to switch hotels. We still haven't been refunded for the nights we didn't use. All they told us was to “try to stay” in the room with the broken toilet.

There were staff around whatever time of day we needed them, which I liked, and we got a pleasant welcome at reception. Breakfast was okay. After checking out, we had no problem leaving our luggage at reception and picking it up later.

The room was roomy and modern, and the hotel was clean. A couple of shower parts were broken, but I didn't mention it to the staff. Breakfast was a bit strange, that European style, of course. I'd stay here again in Bucharest and would recommend it.
