The Line Hotel

There are plenty of food delivery options nearby, and the location is easy to find. I slept well too, thanks to the quiet rooms, comfortable mattresses and good showers. The staff were kind, the service was good, and everything felt very clean. The design is nice, and although they have rooms set aside for smokers, my non-smoking room had no unpleasant smell. I recommend it without hesitation. The gates are easy to use.

The check-in and check-out went smoothly once we followed the instructions, and the toilet was clean. But we hardly slept. Despite the listing calling the place “soundproof” and “quiet,” we could hear doors banging, people talking in the hall, the reception phone ringing and being answered, and staff vacuuming. Afterward I woke up with large bites that still hadn’t healed a week later. The room was average in size and had air conditioning, but there were no slippers or room telephone to reach reception. The interior was fine apart from a large photo that felt out of place. The same framed photo of a Black woman appeared all over the hotel, which felt creepy at night. The amenities were basic, as I expected from a three-star hotel, but I did expect to sleep without disturbances after seeing those soundproof claims. I don’t think we got our money’s worth when we couldn’t sleep. I wouldn’t recommend it to light sleepers, or anyone who wants to sleep at all. In my first update, I said I’d removed my bite photos after Google apparently flagged them as unhelpful. I’m not sure whether the owner raised that with Google. I added this second update because I couldn’t reply directly to the owner’s response. Calling my feedback “slanderous” says a lot, and it’s disappointing to see a hotel in hospitality treat constructive criticism that way. The fact that nobody else complained during our stay, or that the hotel sanitizes often, doesn’t prove the bites didn’t happen. Does one person’s experience become untrue or irrelevant just because they’re the only one reporting it? This response has opened our eyes to how the hotel treats customer feedback.

There are several restaurants just a short walk away, though the property itself doesn’t serve food. The rooms have refrigerators, and the owners were so friendly and helpful that they made the stay especially pleasant. I spent several nights in this newer building and would definitely recommend it. You can find services within a few minutes’ walk in any direction. Parking may be tricky for some. I was on a motorcycle and could park inside the gated area. Thanks, Rick, June 3rd, 2024.

The room was clean and pleasant, and I recommend the hotel. Just be aware that parking on the property costs extra. There’s no space along the street, unless you’re lucky enough to find a spot.
