Convivium Transilvania

A really good stay, quiet and comfortable!

Mikaela's Saxon house has been renovated with a lot of care, and we had a great couple of days there. Our room for four was spacious and pleasant, with two bathrooms and tasteful furnishings. We ate breakfast and dinner at the house, and Mikaela cooked wonderfully, introducing us to Romanian food. We also enjoyed talking with her. There are several tourist sites nearby, and we had a lovely time at the Convivium.

The rooms and bathrooms were dirty, and the water barely came out. The host was a mess and didn't smile. This place felt like a trap. Avoid it completely. We ended up preferring to lose our money.

After driving 500 km, I was met with, “you came 20 minutes early,” even though we were the only tourists there. The reception and attitude were icy, despite the host claiming to be a tourism expert. She doesn't have a company name, which makes the place hard to find. The menu is expensive for its quality, and feeling as if you're being watched and counted added another black mark. The location is absolutely boring. The local evangelical church is locked, and you have to arrange a visit. There isn't anything else to see. In Viscri, it was much the same: restaurants without company names, expensive, and using the vague “eco” label for products from the backyard that could just as well be bought at Selgros, since they can't be checked. The cheese is good, but it comes in a dog's bladder. Money and time wasted!
