Hotel Story

It’s a fairly basic three-star hotel, but the price feels fair for what you get. The restaurant serves good food, and breakfast is more than decent. Staff were helpful and friendly.

We were exhausted after twelve hours on the road when we arrived after midnight. Someone else had booked this hotel for us for two nights, but we checked out the next morning and found another place. It simply wasn’t worth the money. The walls were battered and dirty, and there was dust around. The bathroom was missing mirror shelves, the shower had black grime, and floor trim was broken or missing. There was also a very dirty little chair. At least the bedding looked clean and had just been changed.

Lunch was quite good, with generous portions at affordable prices, but breakfast had very little choice. The beds were comfortable and the linen clean. There’s a minibar in the room, though no drinks were available, and the Wi-Fi was weak throughout the building. Our shower door was broken and wouldn’t close properly, so water flooded the bathroom. A group of college students staying there made a lot of noise in the evening and at night. They also have a conference room equipped with what you might need, including a projector, whiteboard and music system.

The staff were reasonably nice, but cleanliness was the problem. The spare blankets in the closet were covered in stains, possibly even mold. When I asked for another one, it was nearly as bad, and they didn’t seem to care. Some of the other linens and towels also had marks on them.
