I stayed in the old house, so that’s the only one I can speak about. I had a bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen; the kitchen had the basic things I needed. The old-house smell was quite mouldy and stale, though, and made the atmosphere unpleasant. The people were friendly and welcoming, and breakfast was generous and varied. For a night, it was a nice experience overall.

The rooms were clean, the hosts very friendly, and the Wi-Fi was the best we had during our time in Romania. I’d especially recommend the breakfast served at their home.

A lovely way to experience rural Romania. The owner’s family has been here for many generations, which gives the stay a genuinely authentic feel. The rooms were clean and nice, and the food was amazing.

There’s a lot of locally made food, from traditional pork fat and homemade sausages to salad soup, pork soup, eggplant salad, sheep pastramy, spicy finger sausages, polenta and cheese, and plenty more. The host welcomes you with their finest palinca and homemade wine. Extra food and drink aren’t taxed, and an overnight stay gives you access to the backyard mini-lake for fishing. It’s family and pet friendly. If you’re planning bike trips, ask the host about bikes.

The rooms were clean, but the price felt high for what was offered compared with other accommodation in the area. One host was quite impolite and seemed not to care about the guests. The husband host was okay, though. I’d look into the other local options first and come here if those don’t work out.
