Iri Busteni Hotel

It’s a simple place, nothing fancy, but very good for getting some rest. The rooms are large, clean and well kept, most have a balcony, and the bathroom is spacious. When it got chilly outside, the heating was on. The location is lovely, with a great view and enough distance from the main street. The staff were very polite and kind, and checked whether we’d had any problems with the room. Breakfast was good, with plenty of vegetarian options, different kinds of eggs, tea and coffee. You can also have dinner for 45 Ron. We had a main dish and dessert, both delicious, and you won’t find anything cheaper in the city center. I recommend this hotel.

The best part was the balcony view straight toward the Bucegi Mountains. We had a tripple superior room for 230 ron/night. The room was fine, and the hotel seemed cared for, with a friendly staff who had everything planned when we arrived and looked after us well. When we left, they also asked for feedback.

+ The balcony had a nice view. - This doesn’t feel like a 3 star hotel, maybe 1 star at best. It’s a long way from the main road, 15-20 min uphill. There was a bad smell from reception through the hallway and into the room. Airing it out and spraying a little perfume only helped until the scent faded, then the smell came back. The bathroom seemed barely cleaned, with hair everywhere and a very dirty shower cabin, under the sink and around it. There was no towel rail, and water ran out from under the shower cabin while showering. I made the mistake of booking breakfast. It was very poor, with salamy, cold milk, no water, plain biscuits and bulk wafers as the sweet options. The room had no armchair, stool or table, just 3 hangers in the closet. The refrigerator was noisy day and night. Around 3-4 a clock in the afternoon there was a lot of noise, like repairs, hammering and vacuuming. No bedside lamp, shampoo, shower gel or hair dryer, and the wi-fi didn’t work. My worst hotel experience in the last 10 years.

The room was big and had a nice view, the location was good, and it was warm overnight. But for the price, the place felt neglected, dirty and noisy. The hallway carpet was yucky, and from the shower photo I took at check-in, I don’t think the bathroom had been cleaned before we arrived. That hair wasn’t mine. The sheets were stained and had cigarette burns, and the mattresses were yellow. The “double bed” was two twins put together, and it was uncomfortable. I won’t come back and can’t recommend it. I saw the hotel’s reply, so I’ll say it here too: dirty carpet, stained bedding, uncomfortable room. I don’t care that you’re under renovation, though I didn’t see any workers or materials. The room wasn’t clean, and the pictures speak clearly. I’ve read your replies to reviews, and you always blame customers. You should focus more on improving your work and less on answering in a way that makes it look like the customer is at fault. This hotel isn’t worth the money, and people should know. I stayed 1 night, but 243lei for one night and breakfast is unreasonable for Bușteni. I’ve stayed at other places nearby for less and had better service. And just to be clear, your reply showed a lack of respect. You should understand that customers deserve respect, even when they’re unhappy with their stay.
