Vila Ana Lacramioara Concept

I tried to stay on 24.12.2019, expecting to find the Ana Lacramioara guesthouse in Baile Olanesti, but it apparently hasn't been there for a year. The place with that name is in Caciulata, in a cold mansion with no host around. In winter, there was no heat; I was told the central heating only runs for groups of more than 10 people. If you leave because the conditions aren't acceptable, the money isn't returned. I wouldn't recommend staying there in winter unless you're in a very large group, and even then the heating issue remains. I'm sharing this so other people don't have the same experience.

The villa has an impressive look and a mountain view, and Mrs. Flori is cheerful and pleasant. But those positives don't make up for the dated feel, old furniture, dust everywhere, and cleanliness that left me unsure. In winter, the central heating wasn't enough, and improvised electric radiators didn't make the rooms comfortable. I wouldn't recommend it, especially for children or older people. It's a shame, because with proper investment a capable owner could restore the villa's old charm.

The food was tasty, but the rest of our stay was a mess. We found reddish stains on the sheet, blood on a pillowcase, dirty towels, and spiders in the corners. When I showed Mrs. Flori the linen the next day, she blamed a bag of chicken that had been placed on it after the laundry, though that didn't explain how stains got through the bag. The towels looked like they hadn't been treated with chlorine for years; they were swapped for cleaner ones while we ate. I was too nauseous to take photos and just wanted to forget the whole thing. We also had to pay an extra 15% on the holiday vouchers, including when exchanging some for meal vouchers. Mrs. Flori said she had to withhold that amount when settling the vouchers, but I didn't believe that explanation. She didn't ask for our IDs, and when I asked for some tickets back, she offered ones with another name, saying she thought they could be used that way. I eventually got my own tickets. It felt like she had no business registering tourists and was charging extra so someone else would do it. Fair places don't add a percentage like that. This was the only place in Baile Olanesti that took holiday vouchers and had room for our dates, so we accepted. I've travelled around Romania for decades and never seen anything like this. Shame on you, Mrs. Flori. I hope you change for the better. Draw your own conclusions about this guesthouse.

I've travelled all over Romania for 30 years and never seen a place like this. The outside is painted, but inside everything is falling apart. Such a shame for the villa. I do not recommend it.
