Over the years I’ve spent at least ten days vacationing in Romania each year, taking a different route every time, so I’ve stayed in plenty of guesthouses. At this one, I got a room and ordered dinner. There wasn’t enough food for even one person, let alone two, yet the price was outrageous, even compared with an Italian restaurant where we could have eaten well and left full. I’d advise people not to stay here or eat here. To compete, tourism businesses need kind service, good food and reasonable prices. Most Romanians don’t do that, and don’t know how to bring tourists back. I never return to a place where I wasn’t made to feel welcome.

As an Oltenian, it’s pretty hard for me to do tourism in Bucovina. The location is gorgeous, luxurious, clean and elegant, but it feels cold.

How can nobody answer the phone at a four-star hotel? Maybe the stars are Romanian, even if the name is French.
