The owners made us feel welcome, and the wife speaks English. It's a handy base for heading straight out on hikes, for example up mount Toaca. Our room was clean and had enough space for our huge suitcase and bag, though it looked onto a dark, roofed courtyard with no view of the sky. Breakfast isn't offered, but there are nearby places to get some. The private bathroom was very spacious, but getting to it meant leaving the room and walking along the public corridor. We paid 250 lei/ night for two people, which seemed fair. It's a nice little b&b in the center of Durau, and I can recommend it.
The menu is limited, with chicken borsch and pork steak among the options, alongside the restaurant's grilled trout and fish borsch. The trout borsch was very good at 15lei/400ml. Their trout comes from their own farm, though it still costs 12lei/100g. For dessert, there's handmade ice cream at 16 lei/100g, served in clay pots you can take home.
They don't have much on the menu, but the trout is delicious.
The owner was friendly, the location is great, and the room had a private bathroom. Breakfast was tasty too.
