Limanul Resort - Danube Delta

The setting feels like an oasis in the area, and it could be a great place, but there are several things that need work. During our three-day stay, nobody cleaned the room, took out the rubbish, or changed our towels. The hotel itself is idyllic, though there isn’t much to do nearby, and we were nervous about walking because of the dogs around the property. Staying with friends and family was nice, but the value for money wasn’t good. The food was tasty, and we knew dinner choices were limited, so we were fine with having fish. We hadn’t realized fish was all they served, though, and it became hard for anyone who didn’t want it every day. On our last day, a family member said they’d simply skip dinner. Since we were paying for half board, I eventually asked the woman in charge about alternatives. She said they could prepare a cold meat platter for people who didn’t eat fish, but you have to ask for everything. Breakfast is a buffet, but eggs have to be ordered. Service was mostly good, but it seemed we were expected to accept whatever food was served. When we raised things, staff didn’t respond very accommodatingly. Nothing is written down, either. If you don’t speak or understand at least a little Romanian, you may have trouble.
