Pension Verona Centru

Parking can be tough around the city centre, so finding one of the few spots here made a real difference for me. The flat is close to the old town, and the area had little traffic or noise. Our room was clean and roomy enough for two adults and a child. Great value for this price range, and I’ll definitely return.

The owner was pleasant and helpful, although check-in was a little awkward at first because his father was there and didn’t speak English, while my Romanian is basic. We had a clean, fairly large family room. The kitchen area can be used to make tea or coffee. The hotel sits near the top of a steep hill, with few amenities nearby: it’s a 15 minute walk downhill to the city, or 20 minutes uphill to a supermarket. In the bathroom, the shower head and bath mixer tap were tricky to use together, so getting the water temperature right was hard.

The host is helpful, and there’s a kitchen plus a separate spot for coffee, tea or a quick snack. My attic room got hot, and when it rained I could hear drops hitting the roof. You could also hear late arrivals quite clearly, especially people talking on their phones. The carpet had stains already, and there was nowhere to hang towels in the bathroom.

It’s a 15 minute walk downhill to the city centre, and the conditions were very good. They had free coffee in the morning too. Great value for the price.
