Pensiunea Vila Dana

I stayed six nights and had a pleasant time. The room was clean, the staff were friendly and attentive, and the prices were very good for what you get. Finding the place could be tricky, but the owner sent me a location pin and that made it easy. It's in an industrial area, so the scenery isn't great, though it was quiet enough for a very good rest. There's a bus station and taxi stand close by. I'd recommend it to anyone after decent lodging at a low price. 10/10, I'd stay again.

The building and rooms feel old, and the place seems more like a 2-star stay to me. Still, for a traveler that may not matter much. It's not near the city center, though there's a bus stop and tram nearby, and local taxis are very cheap. We got free coffee in the morning, and the lady was super polite. I'd call it an average 4 stars.

The clean sheets and towels made for a comfortable stay, and I liked having a microwave, tea maker, and vending machine for drinks in the corridor. Coffee usually had a small charge, but they gave me one free once. The staff were very friendly, especially the manager. When I had a payment problem, they sorted it out easily and made me feel welcome. She chatted with me and served me coffee, which helped lift my mood. Vila Dana is a nice option for a few nights alone or with family. It has several parking spots and good access to the airport, though it's a bit far from Cluj's center. If you're driving, that distance is less of an issue.

The staff were nice, and the bus stop is very close, with a 10-15 minute ride to the town center. The location is surrounded by old, abandoned factories and there's no nice view from any room, though it's manageable if you're traveling by car. Our room had no air conditioning, and it was so hot on the top floor at night that we barely slept. We couldn't stay in the room in the morning either. The room and bathroom weren't very clean, and some utilities needed repairs. This was in July 2017.
