The view was the one thing we really liked, though you can find great views in plenty of places in Romania. We hope other guests have a better stay than we did. We were excited to spend the night at Moon Valley after seeing the positive reviews, but it turned into a pretty bad experience. Our room was at 30 degrees Celsius when we arrived, and when I switched on the AC to cool it down, it only blew warm air. Our contact said it could only cool in summer, and since it was early November, we got no cold air. There was no apology, just a suggestion to try another room or studio. The next one was a little better, though still not great. We tried to make it work by opening all the windows and leaving the door open. Then the shower water kept flipping instantly from freezing cold to boiling hot, so even a normal shower was out of the question.

There were four stray dogs on the property, and they were barking. One small dog went into a hole beneath the cabin that led to the bathroom, after which the toilet could no longer be flushed. The video I posted shows another dog trying to get his brother out. When we arrived, the room was uncomfortably hot at 30 degrees Celsius. The thermostat didn’t work properly, blowing hot air whatever temperature we set, and when we reported it, we were told this was normal. The property was also under construction, which didn’t seem acceptable given the relatively high price. Awful experience. Avoid this place, there are much better places to stay for less.
