Maritimo Luxury Aparthotel

Nothing about this place feels “luxurious” as advertised. The toilet smelled of urine, and the old shower was clogged, with water pooling and coming back up through the drain. There were no toiletries, and the kitchen chairs were dirty from spills. How can an apartment be rented out when the shower doesn't work? Whoever was meant to clean it should have noticed right away. It's impossible to clean properly when water floods up from the sewer, unless the shower was never cleaned.

The location was great, right across the street from the stairs down to the beach. The beach was reasonably clean, the sand was fine, and the water entry was shallow. Lifeguards were there, and some areas offered sunbeds under umbrellas for 50 Lei a day. Several restaurants and fast-food places were behind the building, within a five-minute walk. Apartment 3B was gorgeous, with two bedrooms and two large beds that could each sleep two adults. The glass street-facing walls in one bedroom and the kitchen gave a great view. The administration was easy to contact, and she texted once the apartment was available. The kitchen had basic dishes and cutlery, a stove, coffee machine, fridge, and washing machine, but no dishwasher or paper towels. There was no parking on site. Guests could park free on nearby streets if they found a space, or use municipal paid parking in front of the building for 30 Lei a day. The machine accepted cash or card. One bed had a stained sheet with hair on it, which is why I didn't give five stars. The shower had drainage problems, which I guess are common in seaside buildings, and sometimes there was a sewer smell in the bathroom.

We were very happy with our stay, and the rooms were surprisingly clean with a beautiful view. Getting to the beach took only two minutes. There was a nice breakfast next door at continental, and bus stops were around the corner. It felt a bit strange that there was no keycard, so we had to use our phones to enter both the building and the room. If anything had gone wrong, there would have been nobody to speak to directly, which I think is needed for a five-star experience. Luckily, everything went smoothly.

The host was so warm and welcoming when I got to meet them. The apartment itself was amazing, with a spacious, stylish interior that looked luxurious and all the amenities needed for a short stay, maybe even a longer one. It's right by the beach, with a wonderful view. This has been my best experience in a beach apartment so far, and I'd definitely recommend it.
