Casa Orhideea

I stayed in the little shacks on the left as you enter the yard. I lasted one night and couldn’t handle staying longer, so I found somewhere else while my friends stayed on. The conditions were inhumane. The cabin, shack, whatever you want to call it, was smaller than a normal apartment bathroom. Open a suitcase and there was no room to walk around it. I’ll say no more about the cleaning, except the broken mattress and the thick layer of dust on the TV shelf. The toilet was out in the yard and shared with everyone in the shacks. It was filthy, there wasn’t even a toilet brush, and there was no toilet paper. The shower was disgusting too, with almost no water pressure. It felt like water was just dripping onto me. The hosts were a mixed bag. The lady was very nice but seemed uninterested in anything. The man was always ready to argue if we played a song with more suggestive lyrics. He even threatened to throw us out for playing a sad manele song on a speaker in broad daylight. Come on, if you’re hosting people, you have to accept some things, especially when lots of people come for the festival. I’d give cleanliness 1/10 and location 1/10. When a train went by, the whole shack shook enough to wake you if your phone had run out of battery. For the hosts, 2.5/5: the lady was nice but absent in body and mind, and the man was a “drunk citizen.” For what I paid for seven nights, I could have rented an apartment in Dubai for a month.
