Alfredo Hostel

We had our own bathroom with a shower, and the room was great, very clean and everything seemed new. Marcella was really friendly. There's a bus stop for the train station about four minutes away. Thank you 😊

The staff are really friendly, and the place is very clean. You get a private bathroom, free TV and WiFi, all at a low price that works well for travelers. It felt like a goldmine, and I really hoped the prices would stay the same. Update: they raised them.

We'd booked everything in advance, but that night they called to say there was no room for us and sent us to another hotel where we'd have to pay double. We refused. At midnight, in a foreign country, we were left looking for somewhere else to stay. It felt like they were trying to rip us off.

The rooms are small, but there's a nice shaded courtyard to relax in. WiFi was a bit unreliable on the top floor. My room was a single with an en-suite bathroom, and the place was clean. They also let you lock your bicycle in a shed and give you the key. I planned to stay four days, but they kicked me out on the third because they were overbooked. Luckily I found somewhere else. Alfredo had arranged for one of his friends to put me up, though it was 6 km out of town, so I declined. One of the cleaners has the most immaculately plucked eyebrows I've ever seen on a man.
