Bacolux Craiovita Hotel & Events

There’s a grocery store close by, and the hotel itself is very clean with friendly staff, though it’s rather far from the city center. In the room there’s a fridge with water, wine, and beer, plus a kettle, tea, and coffee so you can make your own. Breakfast comes in three varieties. Keep in mind that the hotel hosts weddings in summer, so it might get noisy.

It’s a bit out of the way, though transport links are good and cabs are cheap. The garden area and pool are nice. I couldn’t find the bar, and only the reception staff spoke English.

It was 30c outside, and the room was unbearably hot because the thermostat was set to the winter programme. They wouldn’t switch it to summer, so I was sweating in bed every night. The receptionist was very rude, and housekeeping was lazy: they’d fix the quilt, but leave the sheet underneath wrinkled just as I’d left it. A terrible experience. I’d never go back.

The price was great, and the hotel is modern and nice with good customer service. The Wi-Fi was spotty on the top floor. I’m not sure how it was on the other floors.
