Puzzle Apartaments Studios

The apartment was comfortable, and everything was clean and well looked after. Room cleaning was available if requested, which I appreciated. Ms. Olivia was always around and very helpful, making sure I had what I needed. I had a great stay at Puzzle and would recommend it.

The location is especially handy if you're riding the Transalpina: Puzzle Hotel is at the edge of Craiova, so getting out onto the open road is quick. There's a car wash and a gas station nearby, plus a few shops where you can pick up things for small bike repairs. I needed that on my first stay. Chinese food is in the same building without any smell getting into the hotel, and there's a good restaurant close by too. Coming from Bulgaria means crossing the whole city, but that's not a problem. The center is a bit far, about a 40-minute slow walk. I wouldn't find it unsafe, just potentially boring if you're on your own. With friends it's no issue, and there's a 24/7 store halfway along the way. I've been to Puzzle Hotel three times now, and it has been perfect each time. I don't look for other places to stay in Craiova and will likely keep coming back. It's very biker-friendly, with shaded, secure parking for two cars and three large Enduro motorcycles. The owner is a lovely, helpful woman. On our first visit in 2021, we needed public transport tickets, and she drove us to a place where we could buy them and helped us out. When we arrived early on our second visit, she let us wait in the hotel office and offered water and sweets. She's also very responsive on Viber and other platforms. The rooms and bathrooms are clean, the sheets smell fresh, and the rooms smell good too. There are washing machines, and you can pay by card, cash, or Revolut, which is handy. There's a good range of rooms for couples and smaller or larger groups. I stayed in a triple room with two friends on my first two visits, and the beds, bathroom, sleep quality, and number of power sockets were all good. This time I had a double room, which was just as good. The basics include a microwave and fridge. Some rooms have small balconies, others larger ones. The windows block the boulevard noise well when shut, so you can sleep comfortably. If you're reading this, go ahead and book a room. You won't be disappointed.

It was a tidy, cozy, clean apartment in a good spot near the center. We were happy with both our stay and the city, and we'd stay here again if we return. I recommend it.
