The restaurant food was good, and the staff were friendly. Good value too. It’s in a walkable part of town and makes a good base for the mountain pass highway.

We planned to stay three nights, but ended up leaving a day early. The first room was clean and spacious, and the staff were friendly when they put us on the first floor. We then asked to move upstairs because of the noise from the restaurant’s sticking. The room under the roof smelled so strongly of sewer that it was unbearable. After the second night, I said we couldn't stay there any longer. They told me that the top floor room had been offered by mistake and was actually a “spare” room. I was offered another room change, but decided to leave instead.

On our road trip we stayed one night at THR centre, and I’d definitely recommend it if you need to stop in Curtea de Arges. The people were so nice, the room was clean and quiet, and it had AC. We could see the church from the balcony. The food was tasty, with generous portions too.

Breakfast was a bright spot, with five menu choices, generous servings and good flavor. You only get coffee or tea, though, with no water option. The service was generally good, and they cleaned our room daily. The location is in the middle of the city, mâine street. It's a renovated comunist hotel, with an old-meets-new feel. The rooms looked decent, if not especially impressive, and had a mini fridge, AC and HD LCD TV. But our stay got off to a bad start when my wife got stuck in the bathroom because there was no door handle. They moved us to another room, but it shouldn't have been prepared for guests that way. Parking was a problem too. We were directed to a lot about 30m from the hotel, but it was just muddy ground. After the rain, we stepped into mud up to our ankles. Parking on a nearby street would be better. We stayed a couple of nights, and the experience was mixed, about three stars overall.
