The owner's personal apology was a kind gesture, and I appreciate that they reached out. I'd be glad to raise the rating, though the stay itself was disappointing for a place rated so highly on Booking.com. It even made us wonder whether some reviews might be from friends or paid for. The air conditioning was a main reason we booked, but although the listing says AC and the room had it, it was controlled. We switched it on before dinner, then came back to find it off. It made us uneasy that someone might have entered the room. We turned it on again to sleep, but woke around 5:45 am hot and sticky because it had been switched off overnight. That needs fixing. We booked a queen room but got two single beds pushed together. The TV was tiny and wouldn't play anything, even though it turned on. There was just one partly used roll of toilet paper, which ran out, so we had to buy more. On arrival, the gate was locked and we waited outside for about 10 minutes. The bell didn't work despite several tries. The place was just okay, not the worst we've stayed in, but far from the best.

There was a quiet garden behind the house, just right for a relaxing evening. Our room was tidy and clean, and the hosts were really friendly and helpful. They also made breakfast to suit our preference and added some delicious appetizers. The room was amazing.

Mr. Iulian was a wonderful host and shared some great suggestions for places to visit nearby. The room was clean and had everything we needed. Thank you!

The host was a huge help when I had trouble with my payment card and understood the problem. Internet was fast and stable, another real plus. With large rooms, comfortable bathrooms, and nice views of the Deva castle, which is well worth visiting, this is a good place to stay when passing through Deva. I highly recommend the hotel.
