Pensiunea Viodor

The garden out back was a nice place to unwind, with loungers and swinging chairs, and the setting was quiet. It also worked well for us because the road to Gura Haitii, the access point for Calimani National Park, starts right there. Our room was clean, though we spotted a few little spiders. The breakfast was available, which was handy, but it wasn't a buffet and felt quite expensive. The place is right on the street, so it didn't feel especially secluded. I also don't think it deserves four stars, maybe three at most. The man at reception was rather cold and unfriendly when we arrived, which put me off. There were lots of kitschy pictures on the room walls, and the wall design really should be changed. We found a spiderweb with a spider by the hall stand in our room, and a huge spider under the window by the stairs up to reception. Both were there when we arrived, so the cleaning staff could pay more attention to details. It wasn't a very cozy stay, but it was okay.

We had good food and breakfast with as much as you could eat, and the guesthouse was conveniently close to Vatra Dornei. The rooms were clean, service was prompt, and the atmosphere was friendly and quiet. Everything felt just right.

The people were the best part, always available to help with the details or anything else we needed. One of the best mountain huts in the area.
