We booked two rooms five days in advance, and “booking” confirmed them, but nobody from the hotel got in touch. On check-in day, I wrote to confirm our ETA and learned one of the rooms wasn't ready. They tried to say I hadn't booked ahead and had only done it that day. They eventually admitted the mistake, but we still had to urgently find somewhere else to stay overnight.
