Hotel Diana

We chose Eforie Nord because we had our two year old with us, and Mamaia is louder. The hotel looked like the best value, and listings said it had just been renovated. But the street was under repair when we arrived, so there was lots of dust. We found parking behind the hotel, and a nice woman let us in, but said we needed a receipt from reception to leave in the car. At the desk, the receptionist was rude and told us parking cost 15 lei per day, paid separately. I said I’d pay for that day and leave the car outside after, but she said we had to pay for the whole stay or not park there at all. I asked if we could at least unload our luggage, but she wouldn’t allow it, so we moved the car back onto the dusty street. The room was only a little bigger than the bed, with a small wall mounted TV and a tiny fridge. At least there was a fridge, which mattered with a two year old. We had a balcony, but buildings and trees blocked the sea view. The bathroom had a new sink and toilet but an old shower, and the sink leaked constantly, leaving water on the floor. When I sat on the toilet, my knees touched the wall opposite. The AC worked, but its outside unit sat on the balcony floor, making it impossible to stay out there while the AC was on. Music from nearby terraces and hotels was very loud. The offer said we had free access to a pool at a nearby hotel. When we asked, the mean, older receptionist said we had to tell her a day ahead so she could write a ticket, and that we could enter only once, for one day. That restriction wasn’t mentioned in the offer. We were very disappointed and won’t come back.

The hotel was very poor. All the furniture and everything inside looked really old. I wouldn’t recommend it.
