Vila Eden

Really good!

The hosts were difficult and seemed irritated that we were in their home, so I wouldn’t recommend Villa Eden. The beach is a long walk away, about 1 km. The rooms weren’t very clean, and we got either a flat mattress or yellowed AC, plus very worn linens from the “dana hotel”. Parking is basically a bus stop where you can squeeze in three cars, and you might come away with a damaged car. They let you grill only until 8:00 PM, then the grill is put away and covered. Cooking in the kitchen isn’t allowed because the old woman supervising us said it makes a mess. You’re also not supposed to stay on the terrace too long after 11:00 PM, or have more than one person at a table, because the owners say it causes a disturbance and you stretch out. If a “prison” style stay is what you want, this is the place. The owners also prefer to work illegally, so ask them for an invoice.

That one little star is for the very good morning coffee. The rest was horror, and I can’t understand where all the good reviews here and on booking came from. For that money, go to a hotel with great conditions. The so-called private parking is on the street, wherever you can find a spot. From the start, the hosts imposed annoying rules and weren’t welcoming. The old woman watched us, didn’t want us making fries because we were smoking up their kitchen, and said no grilling after 8:00 PM. If we sat outside, she was there too, following us around. Everything we did was wrong. It costs too much for what you get. The place is far from the beach, there’s traffic noise so you can’t rest, and the window can’t be opened. The curtain is placed horribly, there’s no real balcony, the shower barely runs, and the sewage smell is awful.

This review is a real account, and we’re not a demanding family. The price for what you get is far too high. I don’t think it should cost more than 150 a night. For three people there were only two glasses, and two worn, poor quality towels. The bathroom door was broken, the water pressure was almost nonexistent, and the AC blew straight onto the bed, so we couldn’t leave it on at night. There was no balcony to dry a towel, no hairdryer, and no floor towel. Showering flooded the whole bathroom. The one good thing was the very good morning coffee.
