Mai Danube

We travelled as three adults and a toddler in the off season, and the hosts were amazing at making us feel welcome. The people here are warm and genuine, and made us feel at home. The view was beautiful and the food very good. I highly recommend this wonderful place, and we’ll most definitely return. Thank you so much!

Our son had the time of his life with the wooden toys around the property, and seeing him so happy made the trip even more special. The food was incredible. I usually don’t eat fish, but I enjoyed every bite here; it was full of local flavor and felt lovingly cooked. The whole place was spotless, from our room to the common areas. Our room looked out over the Danube, and that quiet view left us speechless each morning. We felt so safe and at peace that we didn’t even bother locking the door. From our first moment there, the staff were warm, kind, thoughtful and always ready to help. Florentina, the owner, radiates care, and you can feel her heart in every corner. We spent a few unforgettable days at Pensiunea Mai Danube in Eșelnița, and it genuinely felt like home. We arrived as guests and left feeling like family. We’ll absolutely be back.

The pool is lovely, and the restaurant serves some great Romanian dishes. Breakfast was amazing and complete, too. Our room was spacious and had air conditioning, and the staff were genuinely polite. Between the views, the food and the service, we really enjoyed our time here.

The deck and pool give you great views of the Danube, and the restaurant serves some very good dishes. I especially recommend the fish. We stayed for just two nights, but it was definitely the right choice in the area. Our rooms were clean and quite large, and the friendly, involved hosts were always around to help. They even arranged a small boat tour that picked us up from the private pontoon. I highly recommend it if you’re in the area.
