Galmondo Hotel

The price is far too high for what you get, and the breakfast was very sparse. The lounge is only reachable by stairs. When we raised the room problems, the staff were unkind. The room itself was cramped and bulky, with dirty curtains and nothing fancy. There were no sockets by the bed, and the reading lamp was plugged into an extension cord under it. Its switch was broken, and I got an electric shock trying to turn it on. The shower sprayed water all over the bathroom, then a clogged floor drain let it leak into the room and soak our suitcase, which we'd left in the little hall by the bathroom. The air conditioner had no remote, and they said they only provide one in summer. We went in April. There was no socket by the unit either, so we had to ask Reception for an extension. They keep the TV remote at Reception and hand it over with the room key. With so few outlets, we had to choose between using the minibar, the TV, or charging a phone unless we asked for an extension cord. It felt like the hotel was built back when electricity wasn't around. Even getting to the elevator meant taking stairs first, a problem even if you're in a wheelchair. This is easily the worst hotel I've been to. Strongly wouldn't recommend it.

I was really disappointed by the service, especially at the restaurant. I asked for ice and was sent upstairs two floors to the restaurant. When I got there, they seemed offended that I'd asked, because they had an event going on. Their attitude was disgraceful. Back at Reception, they gave me a key to a dirty room, so I had to return for a different one. Breakfast was included, but nobody told me the serving hours, even when I checked out and asked. At the restaurant, a woman with an even worse attitude said breakfast ended at 10:30 and that I should have read the leaflets, which I hadn't been given, or which were apparently somewhere in the room. She then acted as if giving me breakfast was a favor, though I'd paid for it. There was no choice either, they just brought me something without asking whether it was okay. I can't understand how this hotel got four stars.

The conditions don't justify the prices here. For a four-star hotel, this is one of the most outrageous I've seen.

The traditional restaurant serves really fine food, and the conference room is good too. I'd recommend it.
