The atmosphere felt sketchy and uncomfortable, and I didn't feel safe. Older men seemed to be bringing prostitutes into the hotel late at night, and it was noisy. The room was filthy and cramped for the price, with dust all over and a carpet stained with what I can only call disgusting marks. The air conditioning didn't work, so it was freezing at night. The bathroom was a mess too, with dirty towels, grime everywhere, and poor hygiene. My stay at Hotel Alex in Galați was awful. The amount they charge is a joke. I wouldn't come back even for free. Avoid it.

The price is good, and having private parking is a real help in this part of town. The hotel is very central, just a couple of minutes from everything in Galati city center. Service was good, the interior staircase looks lovely, and the place feels elegant. We've never stayed in a room this large or this high up. It was hard to warm such a big room, though, and it felt chilly, especially with the small, single person blankets. The lighting was cold except for one big lamp that saved the evening. The bedside lamps didn't work. Breakfast had plenty of food and variety, though the quality could be better.

The buffet breakfast costs 4 euros extra since it isn't part of the room price, but it was tasty, with English and Romanian options, both delicious. The rooms are clean, spacious enough, and the beds are good. It's a small, cosy hotel in general, close to the coast, and the prices feel fair.

Rooms are roomy and clean, with new furniture. The hotel sits in a lovely central part of Galati, near the Danube cliff. Thanks for the service.

The staff are friendly and very helpful. It has a nice restaurant, a bar, and a conference room, and it recently reopened after renovations. The hotel is right in the historic centre of Galați, with the scenic Danube shore and three public transport stations only minutes away.
