Astoria Hotel & Restaurant

The breakfast was delicious, and the staff were kind when we arrived around 22:45. We got into our rooms quickly. Our room and the floor were warm, almost too warm by morning, though there was no hot water, possibly because other guests had used it. Some upkeep is needed, especially around the shower. It was a nice stay for us, though it may not suit picky guests.

I don't think this was good value compared with other places nearby. The property was clean, but a strong sewer smell came from the bathroom drain. There was an event that evening, and the staff kindly offered to arrange a place for us to eat in, but we had other plans and declined.

The staff were very friendly, and the food was good, especially the Chilly chicken breast. I didn't care for the scrambled eggs. Breakfast can be eaten in the room or outside on the patio. My room was clean, but had an unpleasant smell and a noisy minibar with two bottles of water. There are only five parking spaces, though parking on the street was no problem. My ratings: staff 5 stars, cleanliness 4, facilities 1, view 2.

Avoid the mansard or attic room. There was no AC, and with the window open I could hear all the noise. The bathroom drain smelled strongly of sewer day and night. Leaving the windows open all day and showering didn't help. I couldn't sleep there anymore, so I was charged for a regular room even though the initial price was cheaper.
