Hotel Restaurant La Castel

The food was excellent, the prices seemed fair, and both the location and staff friendliness get five stars from me. Professionalism was a weaker point, though, at two stars. It was very crowded, and while I saw several waiters doing other tasks, only two were serving our area. I wondered if service might have been more efficient with more waiters covering fewer tables. We expected a lot from the place and came away a little disappointed by the organization.

The setting is spacious, with attractive tables and chairs, plenty of greenery, and cool shade. Even though it was full, the waiters seemed very professional. I stopped by on a Sunday for a couple of cold, good Weihenstephaner draught beers. The food looked tempting on the menu. The castle itself is a bit kitschy, but the atmosphere is very relaxing.

I found it easily with Google Maps and plan to come back soon. The food was fresh and tasty, the waiter was excellent, and the toilets were really clean. There's lots of greenery around and nice background music too.

The food I had was delicious, and the room service was great too. But after seeing the photos from two different rooms, I have to say that, for such a highly rated place, it feels overrated. I could recommend it for eating, but not for sleeping. The mold and hygiene situation were a disaster.
