We’d definitely come back. From check-in, Oana and Eugen made us feel at home, and we loved how the place sits in the middle of nature. Right by the entrance there’s a “river” where you can fish or catch a spectacular sunset. The traditional food was incredibly tasty, the bed was comfy, and the rooms were clean. There’s also a pool and an upstairs playroom. I’d recommend it if you want to switch off and reconnect with nature.
We spent part of our summer holiday at Iara’s. All meals are provided, and there’s a pool too. The breakfast was very good, with local products, and I’d suggest trying the fish dishes.
We were thrown out in the middle of the weekend after spending two days at Iara Pension and over 400 euros there. Apparently, the problem was that we’d been “insensitive” about the food after being refused garlic sauce with our fish. Yes, we had the nerve to ask for garlic sauce in the middle of the Delta. I think the owners could use more education and humanity. There are dozens of other places in the area that work hard to please customers willing to spend over 150 euros per day. It’s a shame, because the location is beautiful.
Everything felt just right, from the rooms and atmosphere to the hosts. If you’re in the Danube Delta area, this place is worth a stop.
